Editor-in-Chief
Samantha Brenneman (she/her) is a senior double majoring in journalism and studio art with a minor in art history. Last year, she was Cellar Door’s Design Editor, and she couldn’t be more excited to be this year’s EIC!
Outside of the magazine, you can find Sam diving into a new book, sewing her own clothes, or you might even spot her running on the trails around Chapel Hill.

Treasurer
Kie Mandelzis (she/her) is a senior studying media and journalism on the advertising/public relations track and political science. It’s her first year with Cellar Door, and she is incredibly excited!
In her free time, you can find her reading books, going to farmers’ markets, and finding new music to listen to!
Poetry Editor
Anthony Guerra-Flores (he/him) is from North Carolina born to Salvadoran immigrants. He is a Junior studying journalism and English for creative writing. He is very excited to be joining Cellar Door as poetry editor. He likes writing and reading, basketball, photography, and cooking for his roommates. He has been accepted into the Juniper Summer Writing Institute. You can find his work in the Massachusetts Review, West Trade Review, and elsewhere.
Art Editor
Jocelyn Hernandez (She/her) is a sophomore honors student majoring in studio arts, hoping to minor in entrepreneurship. It’s her first year with Cellar Door. She enjoys playing volleyball and basketball. She also enjoys working with children, and you can sometimes find her on the quad selling artwork.
Fiction Editor
Sheridan Barry (he/him) is a senior at UNC studying English, creative writing, and studio art. This year, he is interning with Blair Publisher and working on an honors thesis in fiction writing. This is his fourth year with Cellar Door and his first year as an editor!
Creative Nonfiction Editor
Samiha Bala (she/her) is a junior at UNC studying creative writing, journalism, and environmental science. She likes weird stories, small creatures, and sweet treats. In her free time, she enjoys telling dad jokes and climbing tall things.
Design Editor
Sophie Strickland (she/her) is a senior from Charlotte, NC, and is majoring in media and journalism. She is a university staff writer for The Daily Tar Heel and the Director of Social Media and Marketing for her sorority. She enjoys running and loves participating in the Tar Heel 10 Miler every year. She is so excited to be a part of the Cellar Door because she loves graphic design and thinks this is a great opportunity to improve her skills and learn from others!
Publicity Editor
Lauren Miller (she/her) is a senior from Charlotte, NC, studying Business Administration and History with plans to attend law school. It’s her first year with Cellar Door as a publicity editor, and she could not be more excited! In her free time, she enjoys reading, making jewelry, and doing yoga.
