Abagail Welch (she/her) is a senior double majoring in English and sociology with a minor in creative writing.
She loves poetry, the oxford comma, buying more books than she has time to read, and listening to classical music (but the modern type?—oxymoronic, she knows).
She’s an avid swimmer and adventurer, and hopes to eventually rock climb, hike, and write poems in some of the major National Parks out west.
Boatemaa Agyeman-Mensah is in her third year studying English Literature and Philosophy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a poetry fanatic and currently serves as co-director of COUNTERCLOCK X PATCHWORK, a collaborative fellowship for poets and filmmakers. When not working with Cellar Door, she loves reading and listening to music.
Carly Barello (she/her) is a sophomore majoring in Environmental Science and Statistics & Analytics. She enjoys sewing in her free time, going outside on walks, and listening to her favorite artists Japanese Breakfast, Adrianne Lenker, or Fiona Apple. Last year she helped Anistyn as a part of the publicity team, and this year, she’s excited to continue to work in Cellar Door as Treasurer.
Luna Hou (she/her) is a junior majoring in English and minoring in creative writing and music. She’s also involved in the Asian American Creative Writing Collective (AACWC) at UNC and is so thrilled to be a part of the Cellar Door team this year! When she isn’t writing, you can find her inhaling a dirty chai latte, scouring the poetry shelf at Prologue, or godmothering her friends’ pets.
Hope Mutter (she/her) is a senior working towards a BFA in Studio Art and a BA in Art History. Her dream is to earn a PhD in Latin American art and one day work as a museum curator.
She loves Feist, frozen waffles, and singing little ditties on her guitar. She’s very excited to be on the CellarDoor team for another year!
Georgia Chapman (she/her) studies English and Comparative Literature and loves books. She can’t wait to bring that to the Cellar Door team and read incredible work. You can usually find her reading, people watching, or doing homework with a dirty chai at Epilogue on Franklin!
Creative Nonfiction Editor
Meredith Whitley (she/her) is a senior at UNC, majoring in English with a concentration in creative nonfiction, and communications with a concentration in Media Production with a minor in writing for the screen and stage.
Lucy Smithwick (any pronouns) a senior at UNC, double majoring in Journalism and Dramatic Art. They are co-president of Company Carolina and graphic designer of KTC, and this is her second year as co-design editor for Cellar Door. In their free time, they can be found working in the arboretum or knitting and frolicking around campus.
Jane Durden (she/her) is a senior at UNC majoring in art history and journalism.
You can find her listening to music, sitting on her porch, buying too many books and records, or looking at art in the Ackland Art Museum. She is very excited to be on this year’s team.
Anistyn Grant (she/her) is a senior majoring in English and comparative literature, and is tremendously excited to join the Cellar Door staff this semester.
When she’s not working, you can find her reading Shirley Jackson in the arboretum, chasing squirrels around the quad, and religiously frequenting Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams in Durham.
Isabella Reilly (she/her) is a senior at UNC studying journalism and creative writing.
When she’s not editing and designing for Cellar Door, she’s probably listening to Taylor Swift, reading Jane Austen, or sipping on a coffee from Dunkin’. She is super excited to be on this year’s team.
